Hello, my name is Paula, and I love Cemeteries. They have been my happy place for quite a while, and they are one of the first things I visit when I go to a new place. It all started when I was in college, and I had an assignment in one of my anthropology classes that took us to cemeteries. For the assignment, we had to go to several cemeteries and collect data about the headstones. We had to determine the material the headstone was made of, the type of headstone, whether there were symbols and what kind, and if there was an epitaph, write down what it said, as well as the names and dates on the headstone. Until this assignment, I really didn’t think about cemeteries unless it was for a funeral, but because of that assignment, I really got to look around and realized how beautiful they truly are. When I started really getting into genealogy, my love of cemeteries that was created by this assignment, fit together really well.
I’ve always thought of starting a blog, but I never quite got it together. I’m not sure which direction I’ll take with this, but hopefully, over time, I’ll figure something out.
